Play Day with Dimitri

Yesterday Dimitri, Janie and Grandma M. came over to play. The main thing Evan and Dimitri did was play in the little pool in the backyard. It was extremely entertaining to watch these two play together. They really haven't spent a lot of time together, but they are best of buds. I still think it's so cool that they are only 6 weeks apart and I hope they will be great friends forever.

The look on Evan's face says it all...a good time was had by all.

Just getting used to the water.

Dimitri running through the sprinkler.

Just plain cute!

Dimitri caught in mid flight.

Time to just chill out.

I don't know that Dimitri stepped in or out of the pool once. I think he leaped and jumped every time. It was hilarious. (Sorry about the incessant clicking noise...it's the hippity-hop sprinkler.)

Evan in Pool

Evan's way of getting in the pool.

Grandma & Grandpa T. Visit

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa Thompson visit us. Evan was in heaven the whole time and never wanted to sleep! :) After they left, Evan asked me all afternoon where Grandma and Grandpa go. He was sad to see them go.

Reading is always a favorite thing to do.

Checking out the propeller.

Showing Grandpa the yellow car.

We had family home evening a day early so we could have it with Grandma & Grandpa.

All Smiles!

Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm Good!

Strawberry & Pool

What do strawberries and pools have in common? I'm not sure, but they sure make for cute pictures. Evan wasn't so sure about getting in and out of the pool at first. This first set of pictures is his process. It was pretty funny to watch.

Get down on the grass and back your way towards the pool, putting your foot over the edge when you get close enough.

Slowly work you body over the edge.

Once both legs are in, precariously balance until you get both hands off the grass.
Catch your breath.

Stand up.

And then get out because the water is so cold. Brrr...

Strawberry beard.

My favorite boy!

Later when Evan was more brave, he had a great time laying in the pool.

He even talked Daddy into getting in with him.

New Rail for Deck, Diego bike for Evan

Yippee!!! The deck is getting the rail so Evan can play on there without falling off!

Gary and Dad T. getting started.

Even looked at the instructions!

Getting the first post level.

Carefully taking the plastic off...unlike last time when Gary cut his hand.

Cutting the rails with the new saw from Dad T.

First panel complete!

Dad M. came over to help too.

Lots of talking, a little bit of working.

The hard workers, almost done.

Complete! We gained almost 300 sq. ft. of space by railing in the deck!

Evan's first time with the rail up. He didn't have to hear us repeatedly saying, "be careful, watch for the edge." Instead he got, "don't run into the rail..." :)

Riding the Diego bike.

Not so sure about pedaling.
