Studio Photos

We decided at the last minute to take Evan to Kiddie Kandids when we were in Nampa visiting Janie, Cean and Dimitri. It worked out that we could do individual pictures of Evan and then pictures with Dimitri too. Janie and Cean adopted Dimitri 5 weeks after we adopted Evan and they are the best of friends. They don't see each other often, but when they do they just play non-stop. I hope they always have this special bond. I just had to post Dimitri's pictures on here too...hope you don't mind Janie and Cean!!! :)

Virtual Birthday Party

Today we had a virtual birthday party for Evan. :) It was fun watching him open his presents with family looking on over the computer. Thank goodness for technology!!! Thanks for all the great gifts Grandma and Grandpa Thompson, Mike, Michelle, Kate, Steven and Rachel!

Kung Fu Evan

Evan's Kung Fu Panda costume arrived today and he LOVES it! He still loves this movie and his favorite stuffed animal is his panda, so it's a perfect match! :)

Carving Pumpkins

Tonight we carved pumpkins and we had a lot of fun. Evan would not touch the gunk from the inside of the pumpkins. I guess this shouldn't be too big of a surprise since he doesn't like his hands to be dirty. He called the pumpkin seeds "green almonds" and the inside part cheese. :)

It was okay to touch the outside, but only with one finger.

Getting ready to start.

Contemplating if he wants to touch anything or not.

"Scooping" out the inside of the pumpkin. Really he was just swirling the spoon around in there, but had a great time doing it!

No way am I touching that!

The pumpkins ended up being frozen, so it was quite a challenge to get all the stuff out.

Evan checking out Mommy's pumpkin. When the lids was on he said the lights were off and when the lid was off, he said the lights were on. Clever boy!

Just smiling like usual.

Our pumpkins out on the porch. I did the little one and Gary did the big one. Check out the spock ears on mine. :)

Happy and Spooky.
As soon as we lit the candles Evan started singing happy birthday at the top of his lungs. Not sure what our neighbors thought. The first time he sang more of the song. This video he only did the first part.

The camera was balanced on the rail for this one, so there was no way Evan was going to stare at the camera until the self timer went off. Oh well, he's just checking out our pumpkins.

Tractor Fun

Earlier this week when Gary went to pick Evan up from Jeanne's house, he was riding this tractor. Gary snapped these pictures with his spiffy iphone. :)

Garfield Bay

I finally remembered to take the camera out of the bag yesterday when we went to Garfield Bay. Evan loves the water and it's kind of sad that summer will be over too soon.

Sleep in Bed...Why?

Lately Evan has been having a very hard time staying in bed for his naps...

He'll get up and play for awhile and then fall asleep on the floor.

Or he will get up and not fall asleep and then fall asleep during dinner.

I'm tired of the battle all afternoon, so today I told him he could "rest" on the couch while he watched a movie. It worked like a charm. Right now he's completely zonked out on the couch. I don't really care where he takes his nap, I just want him to take a nap so he'll be pleasant the rest of the day, thus making me more pleasant. :)

Buddy

Here is the reason Evan has dog on the brain. :)

Buddy loved getting in the little swimming pool. Notice all the water coming off his tail? :) I thought that was a cool shot.

I'm not sure how many times Gary through the ball for Buddy, but it was a lot!

For the most part, Evan was content to just watch Buddy from the deck.

Big Shoes

The other day Evan was trying on Gary's shoes. He wore them around the house for quite a while. He couldn't move very fast, but he had a great time.

Huckleberry Jam

I'm glad you can start with huckleberries from this state. I don't really care for picking them!

A little bit of leftovers.

The tools. :)

Final Product. All the lids already popped, so they have sealed successfully!

Now they just need to sit for 24 hours.

Play Day with Dimitri

Yesterday Dimitri, Janie and Grandma M. came over to play. The main thing Evan and Dimitri did was play in the little pool in the backyard. It was extremely entertaining to watch these two play together. They really haven't spent a lot of time together, but they are best of buds. I still think it's so cool that they are only 6 weeks apart and I hope they will be great friends forever.

The look on Evan's face says it all...a good time was had by all.

Just getting used to the water.

Dimitri running through the sprinkler.

Just plain cute!

Dimitri caught in mid flight.

Time to just chill out.

I don't know that Dimitri stepped in or out of the pool once. I think he leaped and jumped every time. It was hilarious. (Sorry about the incessant clicking noise...it's the hippity-hop sprinkler.)

Grandma & Grandpa T. Visit

We loved having Grandma and Grandpa Thompson visit us. Evan was in heaven the whole time and never wanted to sleep! :) After they left, Evan asked me all afternoon where Grandma and Grandpa go. He was sad to see them go.

Reading is always a favorite thing to do.

Checking out the propeller.

Showing Grandpa the yellow car.

We had family home evening a day early so we could have it with Grandma & Grandpa.

All Smiles!
